Herstmonceux is one of Sussex's best kept secrets and a great day out for the family on any sunny day. The grounds are not only extensive but stunning. Lovely gardens and fantastic woodland walks that take you around the entire estate. We've been several times now and you always seem to have the castle all to yourself as there are no crowds here. My advice is take a picnic and enjoy the peace and tranquility that this super castle offers. The kids will love it too!!
