Our recommended day out in Sussex
The Seven Sisters Country Park
Apart from the spectacular views and sheer scale of the Seven Sisters coastline, the best thing about this Sussex attraction is that it's both totally free and exceptionally healthy. Situated in the South Downs National Park In East Sussex, just outside Eastbourne, the Seven Sisters Country Park is a dramatic stretch of chalk cliffs, meandering river valley and open chalk grassland.
Absolutely perfect for children and family days out in Sussex, there is simply miles of open space to explore, walk dogs, cycle and generally feel free and exhilarated. This is definitely one of the best days out in Sussex if not in the country, and is perfect for a Sussex picnic, followed by a long walk and then an afternoon tea in the parks own tearooms.
